Thirteen schools in the Frome Electorate will share in $618,000 from South Australian Government’s $25 million school maintenance economic stimulus package.
Member for Frome Geoff Brock MP has welcomed the funding boost which will see 10 pre-schools in the district each receive $20,000 grants as well as varying amounts for identified projects for Blyth Primary School, John Pirie Secondary School and Port Pirie West Primary School.
“Blyth Primary will receive $100,000 for 237sqm of bitumen hard play replacement, John Pirie Secondary will get $368,000 for bitumen replacement to hard play, building perimeter, car park and driveway over a total area of 6,256sqm and Port Pirie West Primary will receive $150,000 for 927sqm of bitumen replacement ($70,000) and external repairs and painting to two buildings ($80,000),” Mr Brock said.
The 10 pre-schools in Frome to receive $20,000 in grant funding each are Brinkworth Play Centre, Crystal Brook Kindergarten, Hamley Bridge Kindergarten, Napperby Preschool, Port Pirie Community Kindergarten, Port Pirie West Children’s Centre, Risdon Park South Kindergarten, Riverton Kindergarten, Saddleworth Early Learning Centre and Solomontown Kindergarten.
“I know each of these schools and pre-schools will benefit from the funding which will provide much needed facilities renewal and maintenance,” Mr Brock said.
