Volunteers make a huge difference to our communities and we couldn’t manage without them, which is why Member for Frome Geoff Brock is urging everyone to nominate an outstanding volunteer for a prestigious award.
The annual Premier’s Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Volunteer Service program acknowledges and recognises excellence and significant achievement.
“It has been my privilege to present many of these Certificates in the past on behalf of the Premier of the day and it always gives me enormous pleasure to celebrate with our amazing band of volunteers across the Frome electorate,” Mr Brock said.
“The Certificate shows the appreciate of the community for the outstanding work these selfless volunteers do for us all and gives an opportunity for organisations and community groups to nominate one or more volunteers.”
Mr Brock said communities could not function without the work of volunteers who were the engine room in running many clubs and organisations, coordinating and managing events and other essential community services.
“From our volunteer Ambulance officers, CFS and SES to those behind the scenes at our sporting clubs, service organisations and more, there are thousands of committed people giving up their time to ensure our communities are great and safe places to live and work.”
Nominations for the award opened on February 18, 2019 and close at 5pm on Friday, March 29, 2019.
Nomination forms and guidelines are available online from the Office for Volunteers website: https://ofv.sa.gov.au/volunteer-recognition/volunteer-certificate-recognition-program
“If you know an outstanding volunteer, then I would encourage you to nominate them,” Mr Brock said.
