Fantastic to attend the opening of the new Port Augusta Ambulance Station.
This new larger station is a positive step in making life in our regional communities easier and will make the working conditions far better for all the ambos working here.
It is a major win for Port Augusta and the surrounding region.
Hiring more ambos and building more modern facilities will mean people can have access to an ambulance when they need it.
Situated at 22-25 Flinders Terrace, the new station is home to the existing 24-person Port Augusta paramedic team, while it will also host a new six-person regional transfer crew comprising three paramedics and three ambulance officers – when they come online in July 2025.
The new station – which can accommodate up to 40 staff and will hold all eight SA Ambulance Service (SAAS) operation vehicles – features additional garaging space and room for movement of emergency ambulances, improved crew accommodation and extra fire safety systems.
