🚑 ANSWER THE CALL - VOLUNTEERING WITH SA AMBULANCE SERVICE 🚑
SA Ambulance Service has launched its volunteer recruitment campaign, 'Answer the Call'. As part of this year’s campaign to attract new volunteers to ambulance stations across country SA, Port Pirie local Shane Davey has become a volunteer ambassador.
👋 Meet Shane Davey - Ambulance Assist, Mid-North Regional Response Team:
Shane is one SA Ambulance's most recent volunteer recruits and provides a real time account of what it is like to go through the process of gaining qualifications and experience towards becoming an Ambulance Officer.
“I’d worked alongside the team in green for 12 years as a Firie and in the end was encouraged by my shift partners while working with the Metropolitan Fire Service.
One day one of my children had an accident and found themselves in the back of an ambulance. The care they gave my child was such a great comfort to my wife and I as worried parents,” Shane said.
“With SAAS I have already achieved my first level of training with a great amount of support. I am really looking forward to what comes next and glad I joined when I did,” he said.
You can learn more about Shane's experiences as an SAAS volunteer on his profile page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556977404400
By joining SAAS you’ll get free qualifications, Ambulance Cover and be reimbursed for travel and childcare. SAAS also has a unique employer reimbursement program for volunteers who leave work to respond to emergencies in their community.
