Today, we honour the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As the former Minister for Veterans Affairs, I was deeply moved by the strength of our veteran community - not only in battle, but in the quiet, daily struggles that often follow long after the uniform is folded away.

Lest we forget not only those who gave their lives, but those who came home carrying wounds we cannot always see. We owe them more than remembrance - we owe them our support, our understanding, and our action.

To every veteran and their family - we see you, we thank you, and we walk beside you.
