Applications are now open for a total of $250,000 in grants to help young people build essential life skills and transition to adulthood. This grant round was established through the launch of South Australia’s Youth Action Plan 2025–2028.
The Youth Action Plan Life Skills Grants offer up to $15,000 to local councils, Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations, not-for-profits and social enterprises working with young people in metropolitan and regional South Australia.
The funding will help create or expand programs that teach essential life skills, including:
• Navigating government services (e.g., applying for birth certificates, Medicare cards, and Tax File Numbers)
• Resume building, job applications, and interview preparation
• Healthy lifestyle choices, nutrition, and the impact of diet
• Financial literacy, budgeting, and debt management
• Practical skills such as car maintenance, meal prep, and basic home upkeep
• Learner's license driving programs for young people from priority groups.
The round is open until 4 June 2025 at 3.00pm.
Notification of the grant outcome will be made mid to late August 2025. The grant agreement period will start after 1 September 2025 and end 30 June 2027.
