📣Leigh Creek Health Centre Officially Open!! 📣
Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending, the official opening of the new Leigh Creek Health Centre - a modern $4.5 million facility that is already making a big difference in the local community-opened by Minister for Health and Wellbeing, Hon Chris Picton MP.
The state-of-the-art health center replaces the old Leigh Creek Hospital and provides improved healthcare services, including emergency treatment spaces, consulting rooms for visiting GPs and Allied Health professionals and essential telehealth services.
More than 600 patients have already received care here since it began operating in June last year. The new facility also includes a respite space for SA Ambulance, a mortuary, better security, upgraded air-conditioning and reliable backup power.
A highlight of the new center is the stunning 'Healing' artwork by Adnyamathanha artist Juanella McKenzie, which reflects the theme of coming together and community healing.
This is a huge step forward for healthcare in remote areas, ensuring locals have access to quality medical care when they need it most.
