Applications for $1million Growing Carbon Farming Pilot Program Open

Primary producers interested in carbon farming are being encouraged to apply for the $1 million Growing Carbon Farming pilot program.

Funded through the State Government’s Jobs and Economic Growth Fund, the Pilot is aimed at encouraging carbon farming adoption and building the carbon farming market in South Australia.

Grants of up to $100,000 each will support the establishment of a minimum of six commercial carbon demonstration projects. Successful projects will demonstrate and quantify carbon abatement alongside measurable environmental, social and economic co-benefits best suited to South Australia.

The funding will help to cover establishment costs for carbon farming including technical advice and carbon measurement, over the 12-month projects. It can also cover participation costs in demonstration activities.

Eligible projects will need to:

  • Demonstrate a carbon farming method or practice that has application for the South Australian primary industry sector.
  • Demonstrate how carbon farming activities contribute to revenue and jobs in South Australia.
  • Demonstrate and quantify the co-benefits of carbon farming.

Applications close on Thursday, 22 September 2022 at 9pm.
