Sounds from the Ground’ is a music themed playground at Apex Park in Balaklava.  A blend of environmental features, sensory plants and manufactured items to interest children in learning about the natural world and music as they go about their play.  In 2009 a local group called Our Community Our Children was formed and their vision for a play space to help address the identified gaps led to this amazing facility for children.  Wakefield Regional Council received the South Australian Government’s Open Space and Places for People Program which they matched with $63,500. The local group are thrilled to see the realisation of their vision for a nature play space finally come to life which also received support from the community.
