Drought workshops roll out across SA

Workshops aimed at elevating teamwork and preparing farm businesses to meet the challenges of drought and climate change are rolling out across South Australia over the next few months.

Funded by the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund and the Government of South Australia, the ‘From Good to Great Teamwork’ workshops will run in:

  • Hawker                          27 November
  • Leigh Creek                  28 November
  • Wudinna                       3 December
  • Booleroo Centre          4 December
  • Loxton                           February 2025 (TBC)

The 5 half-day professional development workshops are free for participants to join. They focus on developing practical techniques for managing stress effectively, mediating conflicts, and enhancing communication to strengthen connections within farming teams.

They include the Future Drought Fund Farm Business Resilience Program, the Farm Household Allowance, Rural Financial Counselling Service, and PIRSA’s Family and Business Mentors (FaB). There is also support for drought readiness through the Farm Management Deposit Scheme, income tax averaging, and other primary producer concessions.
