Every month, Country Home Service (CHS) will donate multiple grants (up to the value of $2,500) to groups helping to improve the lives of older people living in our Region.
We know there are many groups making a difference to the lives of older people. Run by volunteers, we want to support these groups through our ‘Doing Good 4 SA – Community Grants’ Program.
We are looking to support groups who may not normally attract or access funding. These are groups like coffee or garden clubs, craft or hobby groups, exercise classes, friendship circles, games night, sports team etc. Groups that may be looking for a small amount of funds to purchase resources or who may be looking to run an event.
CEO, Ashley Clarence, said this of the Program, “We’re very proud and excited to be launching our Community Grants Program this week. This is our first hands on initiative to directly
improve the lives of country people, and we’re hopeful we can provide quick and valuable support to a wide range of existing community initiatives.”
We are looking to support groups who answer yes to these things:
If groups feel that these requirements may exclude them, we are open to having a chat about it. We want to maximise community benefit by not providing grants to organisations with exclusive memberships. That’s not to say that groups with exclusive memberships have a fair case for support. All in all, if a group seeks to improve the lives of older people – we want to help them to do this.
