Do you have a new idea or initiative that contributes to community wellbeing and resilience in response to COVID-19? If so, keep reading…

Applications for the ‘Open Your World’ SA Community Wellbeing and Resilience Grants are now open and close on Friday 17 July 2020. Funding between $10,000 and $100,000 is available for projects which will support wellbeing and resilience with an emphasis on mental, physical (activity and nutrition) and/or social wellbeing.

Funding is available for the 2020-21 financial year only, with all grant funds to be expended by 30 June 2021.

The Community Wellbeing and Resilience Grants program is part of the Open Your World – Statewide Wellbeing Strategy which supports the South Australian Government’s goal to build community resilience and support wellbeing in relation to the impacts and recovery from COVID-19. The grants are administered by Wellbeing SA and provide once-off funding for community-based projects targeted at groups within the community who have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. The aim is to address these impacts by contributing to positive physical, social and mental wellbeing and resilience outcomes.

Who can apply?

  • Non-Government organisations
  • Local Government
  • Community groups (such as arts, sporting and community clubs and associations) in partnership with Non-Government organisations or Local Government.

Please read through the Grants Guide prior to submitting an application for the Community Wellbeing and Resilience Grants for 2020-2021.

We know that regular physical activity enhances physical, mental and social wellbeing, so these grants provide a great opportunity to support the COVID-19 recovery through physical activity. Game On – Getting South Australia moving, provides a forward-looking framework to increase activity levels so we would encourage you to refer to this framework in developing your grant application.

The Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing is happy to help with your submission. Email [email protected] if you have questions.
