I was honoured to attend the RAAF Mural Dedication Ceremony yesterday at the Port Pirie Aerodrome.

The new military mural on the WW2 Belmont Hangar was painted by talented artist Sam Brooks and his assistant Mark Harding earlier this year, and it’s absolutely spectacular.

Thanks to Gary Fradd, Secretary of the Port Pirie RSL Sub Branch, Pastor Mark Broadbridge from the Port Pirie Ministers’ Association, Ken Madigan AM, Patron of the Port Pirie RSL Sub Branch, and Michael Hopgood, President of the Port Pirie RSL Sub Branch, for their contributions to the service.

Ken Madigan (RSL patron) gave a moving speech about Australia’s Military history, which can be read below.
