The Joy Baluch AM Bridge is an important link in the National Land Transport Network at Port Augusta, providing access across the Spencer Gulf for commuter, commercial and freight vehicles in the northern region of South Australia. It is also a key tourist link to the Eyre Peninsula, northern South Australia and beyond.

To minimise the impact to road users and safely facilitate stormwater drainage works at the western end of Joy Baluch AM Bridge and safety screens installation on the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) bridge, night works will occur between 6pm and 6am from Monday, 28 August 2023, until Friday, 8 September 2023, weather permitting.
