BreastScreen SA is coming to Port Pirie from mid-August to early November 2023 to provide free breast cancer screening (breast X-rays) to healthy women from the age of 40, especially those aged 50 to 74 years, helping to detect breast changes that are too small to feel.
A woman’s risk of developing breast cancer increases with age (1 in 9 South Australian women will be diagnosed before she turns 75).
By finding breast cancer early, more lives can be saved and treatments can be simplified.
BreastScreen SA’s Mobile Screening Unit will be located
In the car park at the GP Plus, 50 Gertrude Street, Port Pirie from mid-August to early November 2023.
Appointments are free and can take as little as 10 minutes.
