Port Wakefield Overpass & Highway Duplication Project – Works 17th January 2021

Night works – Augusta Highway junction with Copper Coast Highway

The Port Wakefield Overpass and Highway Duplication Project is jointly funded by the Australian and the South
Australian governments and will be delivered by the Port Wakefield to Port Augusta Project (PW2PA) Alliance.
The project will improve traffic flow and reduce congestion for all road users, particularly during peak travel times
and public holidays, and improve safety and freight productivity along the National Land Transport Network.
As part of the project, the PW2PA Alliance advises we will be undertaking night works at the Augusta Highway
junction with Copper Coast Highway (see map overleaf).

Timing of works:
Works are expected to commence Sunday, 17 January 2021, and be completed by Friday, 12 February 2021,
weather permitting.
Works will be undertaken at night (Sunday to Thursday) between 7pm and 7am.
No night works will be undertaken between Sunday, 24 January 2021 and Tuesday, 26 January 2021. Night works
will recommence (Sunday to Thursday) from Wednesday, 27 January 2021 to Friday, 12 February 2021.

Activities:
• Installation of traffic barriers.
• Removal of the existing median.
• Construction of temporary pavement.

What to expect:
Temporary traffic restrictions may apply in the vicinity of the works at times. Signage will be in place to alert road
users to any change to traffic conditions. Motorists are advised to take care when driving through the area.
Night works are being undertaken to minimise impacts to traffic during the day and complete the works as quickly
and safely as possible.
